Britain’s biggest, pinkest fundraising day is back for 2014!
It’s your chance to invite friends and colleagues to join forces, have fun and do something incredible for women with breast cancer.
All you have to do is grab something pink, wear it on Friday 24th October 2014 and donate £2 to Breast Cancer Campaign.
At Regent Pharmacy we will be selling raffle tickets for a prize draw (money raised on the day will go to Wear It Pink, Breast Cancer Campaign Charity). All we ask is you wear something pink and donate £2 by buying a raffle ticket. Prize winner will be announced at the end of the day.
Show off your pinkness by posting a pink selfie on our social media @dearPHARMACIST use #pinkpharm to join us on the day!!!
To make the day fun and exciting we will have a pampering session in our hosting room. Here you will get to try some beauty products. Free samples will be given away. Plus a prize draw for your chance to win some beauty products.
On site we will be performing NHS Health Checks - this will aim to reduce your risks to heart disease, kidney disease and diabetes. This will be free to those eligeble. If you aren't eligeble, don't worry we can still perform the test at a small fee (A private cholesterol test & health check). As we are fund raising, we will give part of that fee towards the Wear It Pink, Breast Cancer Campaign Charity.
Lets build awareness, promote health and raise money for a good cause.
See you all on the 24th October 2014 at Regent Pharmacy, 19 Windmill Street, Gravesend, Kent DA12 1AS.

Stay breast aware and follow these five easy steps:
- Know what is normal for you
- Look and feel your breasts (upper chest and armpits too)
- Know what changes to look for (see below)
- Report any changes without delay to your GP
- Make sure you attend breast screening if you’re 50 or over
WHAT SHOULD I BE LOOKING FOR?
Everyone’s breasts are different; altering with age and at different times of the month. Lookout for changes that are unusual for you, such as:
Breasts
- Lumps or thickening of breast tissue
- Continuous pain
- One breast becomes larger or lower
- Puckering or dimpling of the skin
Nipples
- Becoming inverted (turned in), changing shape or position
- Developing a rash, crusting or producing discharge
Armpits
- Swelling under the armpit or around the collarbone
- Continuous pain
NOT ALL LUMPS ARE CANCEROUS
They may be benign cysts or overgrowth of tissue
But it is always important to report any changes to your GP
INHERITING BREAST CANCER
If you are worried of a greater than average risk of breast cancer because of your family history, you may want to refer to OPERA, Macmillan Cancer Support's online personal education and risk assessment tool.
BREAST AWARENESS IN MEN
Men can get breast cancer too - While it is rare, around 340 are diagnosed with the disease in the UK each year.
Be vigilant and look out for:
- Swelling or painless lumps in breast tissue, often towards the nipple
- Nipples that are tender, turned in or producing discharge
- Swelling underneath armpits
BE BREAST AWARE
