Something fashionable, fun but extremely important is happening on the 24th October this year… that is, dearPHARMACIST.info will be raising money again for “Wear it Pink, Breast Cancer Campaign”.
This incredibly important day will hopefully see thousands of you getting involved in the crucial fight against breast cancer. How? By simply donning something pink, donating just £2 and sending your #pinkpharm selfies in to pink@dearpharmacist.info
You can go as subtle or as full on pink as you like – if you are feeling a little colour shy, then why not just add a splash of pink lippy (Revlon’s Colourburst lip crayons are a personal fav), or a slick of nail vanish or even a statement necklace which will be on trend as well as charitable? And don’t think the boys are getting off lightly! A pair of pink socks will do the job just nicely (so long as you are flexible enough to get your feet and face in the same selfie!) if you need a little #pinkpharm inspiration then take a little peak at the Facebook Page.
Once dearPHARMACIST reaches just 1,000 #pinkpharm selfies, they will be donating an extra £500 to the charity, alongside all the fantastic fund raising they are working hard on.
Pink is the colour of fun and happiness, think marshmallows, Battenberg cakes and pink curly poodles, so don’t make your selfie dull… get everyone involved and get creative? How about a handstand selfie or one with all your colleagues?
But let us not get distracted by the seriousness of this fund raising. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and it is a sad fact that about 48,000 women get breast cancer in Britain, each year alone. Keeping an eye on the five symptoms (yes there are that many) will help lower your risk as early diagnosis is the key to health and survival. Be brave and go seek professional medical advice if you detect any of the signs.
The five symptoms are:
- Lumps
- Skin texture
- Appearance of the nipple
- Discharge
- Rash
